FREE CPR & Defib Classes Offered

A portion of the money the public donated as part of the fundraiser events sponsored by the Cedar Mountain Fire Protection District, was earmarked for CPR and defibrillator training. A short, one and a half hour class will be offered to the public on Saturday, October 7, at the CMFPD Station from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. After the completion of the short class, hamburgers and hot dogs will be available for all participants at

approximately 12:30 p.m.
Tom Corrigan will be the instructor of the class. Mr. Corrigan is the Fire Chief in Fredonia, Arizona, and a

Certified EMS instructor for several agencies. Chief Corrigan is also the EMS Instructor & Coordinator for the Cedar Mountain Fire District. He has been involved with Kane County EMS for many years.

This free class is called “CPR for Family & Friends”, and is formatted for the general public and available for those individuals with no CPR training or those who wish to refresh their CPR knowledge. Just as important will be

the training offered using the Phillips defibrillators we have purchased and placed on Cedar Mountain. A certificate of completion will be

provided from the Cedar Mountain Fire Protection District. (For more specific information about our AEDS, CPR, and heart attack and stroke warnings, please read below.)  To register for the class download the registration form and follow the instructions. You can also call the Fire Station at (435) 682-3225.

In addition to the short morning class, another four hour class will be offered at 1:00 p.m. for any EMS, Fire, or other volunteers interested in CPR certification. If you are interested in certifying in CPR and want to take the class at 1:00 p.m., please call Jayne Alcorn at (435) 682-2440 for more information and to register.
